Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 21, 2026

Douglas Engineering Pacific, Inc. (“DEP,” “we” or “us”) runs douglasengineering.com. This page explains what information we collect through this website, who else gets it, and what choices you have.

What we collect

Contact form. If you use the form on our Contact page, we collect what you type into it: your name, phone number, email address, how you would like us to contact you, how you heard about us, and your message. The form emails this to us and we use it to reply to you. The website does not keep a copy of it.

Website visits. We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit our site and which pages they view. When you visit, Google Analytics collects:

  • the pages you view, how long you spend on them, and how you arrived, such as a link, a search or a direct visit
  • what you do on those pages: scrolling down, clicking a link to another website or to a file you can download (such as a PDF), starting or submitting a form (but not what you type into it), and searching our site (the words you search for are sent to Google Analytics)
  • your device and browser details, such as screen size and language
  • your approximate location (city, region and country), which Google works out from your IP address. Google also uses IP addresses to detect spam.

We do not send Google Analytics anything you type into our contact form, such as your name or email address. Our Analytics tag is set not to use Google signals or ad personalization.

Hosting records. Our web host keeps routine records of requests to the website. Each one includes your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for.

Bot check. Our Contact page uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell people from automated software. It loads from Google’s servers when the page opens. When you send the form, our website also passes Google your IP address and your reCAPTCHA result so Google can confirm you are not a bot. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to reCAPTCHA.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser: one called _ga and one called _ga_ followed by an ID. They let Google tell visitors and visits apart so we can count them. By default each one expires two years after your most recent visit, though some browsers delete them sooner. The reCAPTCHA on our Contact page may also set cookies, including one called _GRECAPTCHA that it uses for its risk analysis. Apart from these Google cookies, the website sets cookies only on its staff sign-in page.

Who gets your information

Through this website, information goes to:

  • Google, for Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA, as described above. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
  • The companies that host our website and deliver our email, who handle information for us so the website and our email work.
  • Our website developer, who manages the website’s hosting and Analytics accounts for us.

Do Not Track and tracking across sites

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal. This website does not respond to those signals: it loads Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA the same way whatever your browser sends. Google’s own tools may treat some of those signals differently.

Google may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites when you visit ours, because we use Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA. We do not control that. To stop Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits, you can install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Seeing or changing your information

If you would like to see, correct or delete information you sent us through the contact form, call us at (808) 524-2434 or email mail@douglasengineering.com.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
